Meccanica is a new concrete Vancouver presale condo tower being built by Cressey at 108 West 1st Avenue at Quebec Street in Vancouver’s South East False Creek neighbourhood. Meccanica will have a 12 story tower and a 6 level podium and will have 170 condo suites in total. All the suites at Meccanica will have balconies and air-cooling (Just like AC, but we can’t call it that).

Automotive Inspired Design

Meccanica will have a modernist automotive theme based on the designs of Intermeccanica, a custom car builder most recently known for their Porsche 356 Roadster replicas. (Thanks for the heads up Robert!)

Floor Plans for Meccanica

Sticking with the Porsche/Intermechanica theme, Cressey named their floor plans after famous models such as the Speedster for most of the suites in the tower, Roadster for the townhouses and ground oriented condos, and the Turbo Model for the podium penthouse condos with large patios. Deposits at Meccanica SE False Creek

There will be a 20% presale deposit in total and 10% of the purchase price is payable upon an accepted offer and an additional 5% is payable on the latter of the amendment to disclosure or 90 days after an accepted offer and a final 5% deposit is due on the latter of 120 days following the 2nd deposit or 210 days following vendor’s acceptance of an offer.

Interiors at Meccanica

Expect minimalist modernism with polished concrete floors, Porsche inspired colour accents, and fabricated metal doors. There will also be a high level of personalization available in terms of colours and features. Similar to James, Meccanica will have 9’4” ceilings with extra tall doors to reflect the over height ceilings which are smooth finished. (no popcorn, yay!)

In the kitchens there will be lacquer cabinetry with different coloured lacquer accent coloured cabinets and aluminum trim inside the cabinets. Meccanica gets the same cabinetry as in Shangri La. AEG will supply the stainless 5 burner cook top and all suites will have a Blomberg will supply the dishwasher and fridge with high end metallic handles. Expect a stacking Whirlpool washer/dryer in an integrated cabinet. There will be aluminum kicks in kitchen and lots of built in cabinetry. Heavy duty aluminum industrial doors will be used on the bedrooms for a loft feel. Built-ins in closets could be an upgrade. Optional dining island is available price not certain at time of writing. Expect high end bathrooms with porcelain tile flooring and a dual handle shower head and stand up shower.

Meccanica Developer Cressey

Cressey has a great reputation for building high quality end user oriented condos like Donovan at 1055 Richards and Maddox in Downtown Vancouver and James Living at 288 West 1st Avenue in SE False Creek. Rafii Architects responsible for the great design at Donovan and James are the architects for Meccanica.

Amenities and Maintenance Fees

Maintenance fees are expected to be $.35/sf. For this, expect a Demonstration Kitchen (like in a cooking show) with seating for 14 as well as large common rooftop deck and BBQ area.

All suites except studios come with parking and lockers are available for an extra charge.
