The Hub of Mount Pleasant
Designed in collaboration between Birmingham & Wood and Architrix Design Studio, Block 1910 is a boutique collection of heritage and contemporary townhomes, and a modern single-family residence by Hudson. It includes the restoration and reconfiguration of McConaghy House, an Edwardian home constructed by John McConaghy in 1910. These residences feature attached garages, private roof terraces, chef’s kitchens, and modern finishings.
Situated on East 5th Avenue between Guelph and Prince Edward streets, Block 1910 benefits from proximity to numerous neighbourhood amenities, educational institutions, and employment opportunities. At the top of the hill are Dude Chilling Park and Guelph Park with its tennis courts and community garden. Adjacent is Mt. Pleasant Elementary School which also hosts a playground, sports field, and farmers market. Just a short walk to Prince Edward & Broadway, Kingsgate Mall offers everything you need to satisfy your daily necessities. Whether you’re a student or professional, the False Creek Flats on the opposite side of Great Northern Way is a hub for creative & digital businesses, health care & life sciences, and food & service industries. For leisure — whether it’s coffee at Gene, happy hour at Como Taperia, or a dinner date at The Wallflower — you’ll never tire of the unique options along Main Street that attract people from across the city.

Developer Team for Block 1910
Founded in 1983, Hudson Projects is a Vancouver-based real estate development company specializing in commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects. Hudson works closely with investors and landowners to achieve results that exceed expectations. Past work includes the Fairview Green townhomes and King Edward Green in the Cambie Corridor — both designed by W.T. Leung Architects.
The firm of Birmingham & Wood, Architects and Planners was established in Vancouver in the 1930s. The original partners, William Birmingham and Woodruff Wood, were key in the development of West Coast Modernist architecture. Their body of work was comprised largely of institutional and residential buildings uniquely suited to the materials and landscapes of the West Coast. The current partners, Sandra Moore Architect AIBC and James Burton Architect AIBC, are committed to continuing the legacy of Birmingham & Wood. Institutional and residential projects comprise the greatest part of the firm’s current work.
Vancouver-based Architrix Design Studio was formed in 2007 and has grown to be a well-established design firm with a network of exceptional builders, suppliers, consultants, and municipal planners. The company provides planning and design services for all types of residential construction projects — from renovations to new homes to boutique multi-family projects. Their design work explores the possibilities of geometric space, light, and flow. Architrix aims to specify durable quality material, deploy high performing green technologies, and implement sustainable theories in all projects.
