A Tribute to Jericho Character

The Point is a boutique collection of six Craftsman-inspired residences by Formwerks Architectural. It consists of three duplexes that include the California Arts & Crafts-style bungalow which Vancouver architect, William A. Doctor, designed and built for his family in 1912. This heritage home will be relocated here, revitalized, and converted into a duplex. Two complementary duplexes, with correlating classic architectural expressions, will be constructed on the property. These 2-bedroom + den and 3-bedroom luxury homes feature breathtaking mountain, ocean, and city views; private outdoor patios, porches, and balconies; and the option to add an elevator.

Situated in Vancouver’s prestigious West Point Grey neighbourhood, homeowners can head to nearby Jericho Beach and Spanish Banks for a leisurely walk or afternoon sailing excursion to witness the most spectacular sunsets. Also within walking distance, you’ll find tennis courts, lawn bowling, disc golf, volleyball courts, picnic areas, sailing, and kayaking. Everyday essentials — from groceries to banking, boutiques to services — can be found minutes away along West 4th Avenue. UBC is just minutes away with the outstanding Museum of Anthropology, Nitobe Memorial Garden, Chan Centre for the Performing Arts, botanical garden, and UBC Farm farmers market. Experience upscale and refined shopping on or take a break at any of the numerous cafes and restaurants along the way.

Developer Team for The Point
Founded in 1988 by Jim Bussey, Formwerks Architectural is a full-service design house that possesses a portfolio of over 600 custom single-family homes and 2,500 townhomes. Formwerks has diversified into a comprehensive firm encompassing development under the Formwerks Boutique Properties brand, interior design, and in-house landscape design. Formwerks’ international portfolio of single-family, multi-family, commercial, and destination properties bear the classic ideology of elegance in architectural form, standing apart without pretense. Other projects include Cypress & Second, Sixteenth & Burrard, West Boulevard & West 53rd, and Tudor House.

The firm of Birmingham & Wood, Architects and Planners was established in Vancouver in the 1930s. The original partners, William Birmingham and Woodruff Wood, were key in the development of West Coast Modernist architecture. Their body of work was comprised largely of institutional and residential buildings uniquely suited to the materials and landscapes of the West Coast. The current partners, Sandra Moore and James Burton, are committed to continuing the legacy of Birmingham & Wood. Institutional and residential projects comprise the greatest part of the firm’s current work.

In addition to actually building homes, there’s interior design, branding, marketing, and sales to consider. Archetype Studio provides full-service real estate design and sales services to developers, including marketing, branding, sales, and interior design. This allows developers to focus on what they do best: building quality homes.

A heritage building will be relocated here and joined by two complementary buildings.

Expected Completion for The Point
