About Burnaby
Burnaby is east of Vancouver and was the first to build the SkyTrain line for Expo 86. Not only did this train provide a quick traffic-free trip to Vancouver, but it also started a boom of dense residential and commercial developments close to its 10 SkyTrain stations.
Burnaby was named as Canada’s best-managed city in Canada by Maclean’s magazine. Parks and green space include Deer Lake and Burnaby Lake parks, each surrounding ancient urban lakes that are home to wildlife like herons, eagles, turtles and even the occasional bobcat. Burnaby Mountain is one of the largest parks in Metro Vancouver, with forested hiking and biking trails. Barnet Marine Park has breathtaking views of the ocean and the north shore mountains.
