    The Next Generation of Contemporary Homes

    Southlands at Royal Bay, developed by GableCraft Homes, is a collection of 74 detached single-family homes.

    This new residential community is located at Quarry Street and Tradewinds Avenue in the Latoria South neighbourhood. A mix of nine 3-level floor plans — with lane or front garage styles — are designed to meet the needs of young professionals, growing families and multi-generational families.

    Layouts range from 1,356 – 2,504 sq ft and include three or four bedrooms. Select plans include bonus and flex rooms, and unfinished basements that can be converted into a 2-bedroom lockoff suite for relatives, guests, or tenants. In addition to Energy Star appliances and low-flow plumbing fixtures, Southlands homes have been designed to accommodate solar panels for greater sustainability.

    Royal Bay is an evolving, master-planned community located in Colwood between Albert Head and Esquimalt lagoons. New single-family and multi-family homes are being completed in phases, as well as schools, parks, biking and walking trails, and beautiful greenways.

    Across Quarry Street from the Southlands homes, will be a future elementary school. The new Royal Bay Secondary School is only a short walk north of Latoria Boulevard. A new retail village, called The Commons, is just 500m away. More than 76,000 sq ft of retail space includes Quality Foods, Cascadia Liquor, Pure Integrative Pharmacy, Sequoia Coffee, and a restaurant.

    The Commons will also house the Royal BC Museum Research & Collections which include birds and mammals, botany, fish, entomology, history, and paleontology. Enjoy sunny afternoons at Royal Bay Beach Park, where there’s an Olympic-size volleyball court, oceanside playground, and plenty of space for a picnic on the beach.
