THE TRI-CITIES AREA

The three cities are Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, and Port Moody and the two villages are Anmore and Belcarra. All combined, these five communities have a 2016 population of 234,300 residents, with relatively high income, low unemployment, and a low crime rate makes this region an exceptional place to live and build a family.

TRANSPORTATION

Situated just 30 kilometres from Downtown Vancouver makes it a fairly easy commute with lots of transit available. Bus and Transit service in the Tri-Cities area is provided by TransLink. The West Coast Express, which runs from Downtown Vancouver to Mission stops at Port Coquitlam Station, Coquitlam Central Station, and Port Moody Station. The Millennium Line line currently serves the area, since the completion of the Evergreen Extension on December 2, 2016. The line serves Lougheed Town Centre in Burnaby and passes through the southwestern part of Coquitlam into Port Moody and central Coquitlam, where it terminates at the Douglas station.

RECREATION

The Tri-Cities’ hiking trails are rich with gardens and wildlife and feature incredible opportunities for outdoor exploration. There are canoeing, kayaking, sailing clubs, scuba diving, and wakeboarding clubs in the Tri-Cities area. Recreation Centres cater to every sport and activity as well as six golf courses. With its nearly 100 municipal parks and natural areas, the Tri-Cities area offers a number of exceptional, not-to-be-missed hiking and other outdoor opportunities.
